Scholar Review Policy

How every page is checked by a qualified scholar before it goes live.

Why Every Page Is Reviewed

Writing about the Quran is a trust (amanah). A small error in a translation, a misquoted verse number, or a weak hadith presented as authentic can mislead thousands of readers. That is why every page on QuranGuides.com is checked by a qualified scholar before it is published, no exceptions.

Who Reviews Our Content

Our reviewers are individuals with formal Islamic education, qualified in Quranic studies, Hadith, or Islamic scholarship, who are capable of verifying translations, references, and attributions against the original Arabic sources.

Reviewers are chosen for knowledge and integrity, not for affiliation. We do not require reviewers to belong to any particular organization or movement, and we do not ask them to promote any sectarian position.

What Review Covers

Each review checks the following before a page is approved:

  • Translation accuracy: Every English rendering of a Quranic verse is checked against the Arabic text to make sure the meaning is conveyed faithfully, without addition or omission.
  • Verse references: Every surah and verse number cited is verified, so readers can open any mushaf and find exactly what we quote.
  • Hadith authenticity: Every hadith is checked for its grading, authentic (sahih), good (hasan), weak (daif), and its source collection. Weak narrations are never presented as authentic, and fabricated narrations are never used.
  • Attribution: Stories, historical claims, and scholarly opinions are checked to make sure they are attributed correctly and not taken out of context.
  • Clarity of meaning: The reviewer confirms that the plain-language explanation does not distort or oversimplify the verse or narration being explained.

If a reviewer finds a problem, the page goes back to the writer for correction and is re-checked before publishing.

Reviewer Independence

Our reviewers work independently of the writing and publishing schedule. A reviewer can reject or require changes to any page, and no page goes live over a reviewer’s objection.

Reviewers are not paid per approval, and their compensation, if any, is never tied to how many pages pass review. Their only job is to protect the accuracy of what readers see.

What Scholar Review Does NOT Mean

It is important to be clear about the limits of this review:

  • This is not a fatwa. Scholar review confirms that a page accurately presents general knowledge. It does not give you a personal religious ruling.
  • Personal questions need personal guidance. If your question is about your own worship, family, finances, or any specific situation, please consult a qualified scholar or your local imam directly. A website cannot replace that.
  • Review does not mean unanimity. On matters where respected scholars legitimately differ, review ensures the difference is presented fairly, not that only one view is shown.

Ongoing Review

Review does not end at publication. If new information comes to light, if a reader reports an error, or if our understanding of a topic improves, the page is re-checked and updated. See our Editorial Policy for how corrections are handled.

A Final Note

We ask Allah to accept this effort and to forgive its shortcomings. If you ever find something on this site that you believe is inaccurate, please tell us through our Contact Us page, helping us correct an error is a service to every future reader.
