Our Standard
QuranGuides.com exists to explain the Quran accurately and in plain language. Because this work deals with the words of Allah and the teachings of His Messenger (peace be upon him), we hold ourselves to a higher standard than an ordinary website.
Every page on this site is researched, written, sourced, and reviewed before it is published. This page explains how that works.
How Content Is Researched
Every guide begins with primary sources, in this order of priority:
- The Quran itself, every translation we quote is checked against the Arabic text, and every verse reference is verified (surah number and verse number).
- Authentic Hadith, we rely on the well-known collections (such as Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim), and we state the authenticity grading of every hadith we cite.
- Established tafsir, classical and contemporary commentaries of recognized scholarship inform our explanations of context and meaning.
- Documented history, for historical articles, we use established biographical and historical sources, and we distinguish between firmly established events and narrations scholars differ on.
We do not invent explanations, and we do not present weak or fabricated narrations as authentic. When scholars differ on a point, we say so plainly instead of picking the version that sounds best.
How Content Is Written
Our plain-language standard means:
- Short sentences and everyday words, written for a general reader, not just for students of knowledge.
- Arabic terms explained the first time they appear.
- Verse references written out clearly (for example, “Quran 2:255”) so readers can check them in any mushaf or Quran app.
- No jargon, no filler, and no padding for word count.
The Review Steps
No page goes live without passing through these steps:
- Drafting. A writer produces the article from the sources above, following the site’s style and structure guidelines.
- Fact-check. An editor verifies every verse reference, hadith citation, translation, name, and date against the original sources.
- Scholar review. A qualified scholar reads the full page and checks it for accuracy, see our Scholar Review Policy for what this covers.
- Final edit. After review, the page is edited for clarity and readability, then published.
Corrections Policy
We are human, and despite our process, mistakes can happen. When they do, we correct them openly:
- Anyone can report an error through our Contact Us page.
- Every report is checked against the original sources by an editor.
- Confirmed errors are corrected promptly, and significant corrections are noted so readers can see what changed.
- We do not quietly rewrite pages to hide mistakes, transparency is part of the trust.
No Sectarian Agenda
QuranGuides.com has no sectarian, political, or organizational agenda. We present the Quran and authentic Sunnah as understood by mainstream scholarship across history.
Where legitimate scholarly differences exist, we describe them fairly instead of pretending there is only one view. Where a matter is settled and clear, we state it with confidence. We never use this platform to attack any group, school of thought, or individual.
External Links
We link to outside sources, such as Quran translations, hadith databases, and academic references, so readers can verify what they read. These links are provided for reference only; we do not control or endorse the full content of external websites.
